Before you start: the safety checklist

Sideloading an APK is safe when done right, but a five-second safety check protects you from the minority of malicious files floating around the web. Before you tap download, run through this list:

  1. Verify the URL. Confirm the address bar shows spotifypremiumapkz.cc and that the connection is HTTPS (the padlock icon should be visible).
  2. Note the SHA-256 hash on the download page. After the file finishes downloading, run any hashing tool on it (even an online SHA-256 calculator works) and confirm the two hashes match.
  3. Read the VirusTotal report. We link the latest 60+ engine scan next to every download. Every engine should show "clean".
  4. Check the file size. The September 2026 build is exactly 82 MB. Anything significantly smaller is a stripped, broken or tampered build.

The 4-step install

Step 1 — Download the APK

Tap the green Download APK button on the homepage. Your phone will save the file to /Download. The download takes between 8 seconds (fast Wi-Fi) and 90 seconds (slow 3G).

Step 2 — Allow Unknown Sources

By default, Android blocks apps that didn't come from the Google Play Store. You only need to enable this permission once — for the browser or file manager you'll use to open the APK.

On Android 8–12: Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps → choose your browser → toggle Allow.

On Android 13+: Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps → browser → toggle Allowed. Android 13 added a per-app permission model, so each browser must be enabled independently.

Step 3 — Open the file and tap Install

Open your file manager (or the browser's Downloads tab), tap the APK, and confirm Install. The first install takes 5–10 seconds. If you see "App not installed", jump to the troubleshooting section below.

Step 4 — Launch and sign in

Open the new Spotify Premium app icon (the package name is com.spotify.music.mod, distinct from the official com.spotify.music). The first launch takes 20–40 seconds while the app builds its cache. Sign in with any Spotify account — free, Premium, Family, Student or a brand-new one — and every Premium feature activates on the next track change.

Per-Android-version notes

Android 8.0 Oreo and 8.1

The MOD works, but Spotify itself no longer officially supports Oreo. Expect occasional background-restart issues. If you have a choice, upgrade to Android 10 or later.

Android 9 Pie

Full support. The MOD installs and runs identically to the official app.

Android 10 and 11

Full support. Scoped storage requires the MOD's permission prompt for any folder you want to download music into.

Android 12 and 12L

Full support. Material You theming is partially applied — the MOD's accent colour picker takes precedence over the system theme.

Android 13

Full support. Grant the new Photos & Videos permission if you want the Canvas-share feature to work on Instagram.

Android 14

Full support. The MOD has been tested on Pixel 8 (stock Android 14) and Galaxy S24 (One UI 6).

Android 15

Full support. The MOD has been tested on Pixel 9 (stock Android 15).

Android 16

Full support as of the August 2026 patch. Earlier 9.0.x builds had a known crash on Android 16 DP2 — fixed in the September release.

Troubleshooting

"App not installed"

Almost always caused by a leftover official Spotify install. Go to Settings → Apps → Spotify → Uninstall, then re-install the MOD. Repeat for any old MOD APK that might still be on the device. If the error persists, clear the Play Store cache and reboot.

"There was a problem parsing the package"

The APK file is corrupted. Verify the SHA-256 hash, re-download from a different mirror if it doesn't match.

"Spotify keeps showing ads"

You installed the official app by mistake. Check the package name under Settings → Apps — it should read com.spotify.music.mod, not com.spotify.music. Uninstall the wrong app and re-install the MOD.

"Offline downloads fail"

Check that you have at least 1.5 GB of free storage and that the MOD has been granted the Storage permission (Android 12 and earlier) or the Photos & Videos permission (Android 13+).

"App crashes on launch"

Clear the app's cache (Settings → Apps → Spotify Premium MOD → Storage → Clear Cache). If crashes persist, uninstall and re-download a fresh build.

"Login keeps failing"

Spotify sometimes rate-limits logins from the same IP across many accounts. Try logging in from your home Wi-Fi rather than public Wi-Fi, or wait 30 minutes before retrying.

How to uninstall cleanly

The MOD installs as a separate app, so uninstalling is just like uninstalling any other Android app: long-press the icon → Uninstall. To remove your offline downloads as well, clear the app's storage in Settings → Apps → Spotify Premium MOD → Storage → Clear Storage before uninstalling.

// FINAL TIP

Once the MOD is installed, bookmark this site and subscribe to the RSS feed. We publish a new build within 24–72 hours of every official Spotify release, so you'll never fall behind on a Spotify update.

What to do after the install

The first launch takes 20–40 seconds while the MOD builds its cache. Once you're signed in, take five minutes to optimise the settings before you start listening:

  1. Enable the Amoled theme. Settings → Display → Theme → Amoled True Black. If your phone has an OLED screen, you'll see battery life improve by 10–15%.
  2. Force 320 kbps on mobile data. Settings → Audio Quality → Mobile Streaming → Very High. The MOD unlocks this option; you'll hear the difference on good headphones.
  3. Disable autoplay. Settings → Playback → Autoplay. The MOD exposes a hidden toggle to keep your queue clean.
  4. Hide the Friends Activity sidebar. Settings → Social → Friend Activity → Off. The MOD disables this by default, so you don't broadcast what you're streaming.
  5. Set crossfade to 12 seconds. Settings → Playback → Crossfade. 12s is the sweet spot for smooth DJ-style transitions.

How to keep the MOD updated

Spotify pushes a new Android release every 2–3 weeks. To stay ahead of Spotify's anti-MOD patches, the MOD community publishes new builds within 24–72 hours of each official release. The easiest way to keep your install up to date is to subscribe to the RSS feed at spotifypremiumapkz.cc/rss.xml — every new build includes a changelog post that explains what changed.

You can also follow the blog at spotifypremiumapkz.cc/blogs/ for human-written release notes and the occasional deep-dive into what each patch actually does under the hood. We never auto-update the APK on your behalf — that's a decision you should always make manually after verifying the SHA-256 hash.
