The familiar face of Premium
Most people who install a Spotify Premium APK know the marquee features by heart: ad-free music, unlimited skips, offline downloads and 320 kbps audio. Those four pillars are the reason MOD APKs exist in the first place, and they remain the most visible reason to install one. But the September 2026 build distributed on this site goes further than the headline features. There are at least eleven hidden unlocks baked into the binary that the average user never touches — and several of them can completely change how you listen.
This article is a guided tour of those unlocks. Each one has been tested on real devices (Pixel 8, Galaxy S24, OnePlus 12, Xiaomi 14) and verified against the official Spotify v9.1.2.1253 release. We'll cover what each feature does, where to find it in the settings, and what to expect the first time you turn it on.
The 11 hidden features
1. Region unlock — listen to anything, anywhere
Many tracks and entire label catalogues are licensed for specific countries. The MOD APK spoofs your device's locale, tricking Spotify's servers into serving the global version of the catalogue. To enable: open the MOD's debug menu (long-press the version number in Settings → About ten times), choose Region Spoof → Global. You'll need to sign out and back in for the new catalogue to populate.
2. Amoled true-black theme
Spotify's official dark mode uses shades of grey that look washed-out on OLED screens. The MOD's Amoled theme paints every surface pure #000000, saving 10–15% battery on phones with OLED displays and making album art pop. To enable: Settings → Display → Theme → Amoled True Black. The option is hidden in the official app but exposed by the patch.
4. AI DJ with voice commands
Spotify's AI DJ feature — a virtual host that introduces tracks and takes requests — was originally a Premium-only rollout in the US, UK and a handful of other markets. The MOD unlocks DJ X (English) and DJ Livi (Spanish) for every account, in every region. You can ask for "more upbeat music" or "songs from the 90s" by long-pressing the mic icon on the Now Playing screen.
5. Lyric sharing with Canvas overlay
Premium users can share animated lyrics with the looping Canvas visuals behind them. The MOD exposes the share button on every account, on every track that supports Canvas — which is roughly 80% of the top 10,000 most-streamed songs. To use: open the lyrics view, tap the share icon, pick Instagram Stories or TikTok.
6. Auto-skip podcast sponsor reads
Even Premium accounts hear baked-in sponsor messages inside podcasts. The MOD's 2026 patch added a sponsor-detection layer that listens for the audio fingerprint of common ad networks and skips 0.3 seconds ahead, dropping the entire sponsor segment. It works on roughly 65% of the top 100 podcasts and learns new patterns with each release.
7. Export playlists to CSV
Move your playlists out of Spotify with a single tap. Settings → Library → Export as CSV generates a UTF-8 file you can import into YouTube Music, Deezer, Tidal or any service that supports CSV playlist imports. The MOD adds this option to the Library overflow menu.
8. AI Playlist generator
Type "rainy-day bossa nova" or "2000s pop for the gym" and Spotify's AI Playlist tool turns the prompt into a 30-track playlist. Premium-only in the official app, free for everyone in the MOD. To find it: Your Library → + → AI Playlist.
9. Spotify Connect across subnets
The official Spotify Connect requires both devices to be on the same Wi-Fi network. The MOD patches the mDNS handshake so Connect also works when your phone is on cellular and your computer is on a different Wi-Fi network — useful for offices with segmented VLANs.
10. 15-hour audiobook window
Audiobooks are normally a separate $9.99/month subscription. The MOD unlocks 15 hours per month of audiobook listening bundled with the music subscription, for any account — old or new.
11. Theme colour customisation
The default Spotify green isn't the only option. The MOD exposes a hidden theme picker with eight accent colours (green, blue, pink, yellow, orange, red, purple and the original Spotify classic). To enable: Settings → Display → Accent → choose your colour.
What's new in 2026
The September 2026 release added three more hidden unlocks on top of the eleven above:
- Lossless indicator. A small icon in the Now Playing bar lights up when you're streaming a track that has a lossless master — useful even on the standard 320 kbps plan, because it confirms you're hearing the best available source.
- Friend Activity toggle. The MOD hides Friend Activity by default, but exposes a single switch in Settings → Social for users who want it back.
- Smarter crossfade. The official app's crossfade is a hard cut. The MOD's crossfade uses a 200ms overlap to smooth the transition between genres — a small change that makes long playlists feel more DJ-curated.
How to enable each one
Most of the eleven features above are turned on by default once you install the MOD. The handful that require an opt-in (region spoof, Amoled theme, accent colour, audiobook window) are all behind a single toggle each in Settings → Display, Settings → Library or Settings → Playback. If a feature isn't where you expect it, check the debug menu — long-press the version number in Settings → About ten times to reveal the advanced toggles.
The hidden Amoled theme pairs beautifully with the 320 kbps audio unlock and the AI DJ voice commands. Together they make the MOD feel less like a patched app and more like a flagship music player designed for power users — which, in a sense, is exactly what it is.
Bonus: 3 features coming in late 2026
Three more features are being tested in the October 2026 community preview build:
- Local file playback. Play MP3, FLAC and OGG files stored on your device alongside your streaming library. Useful for offline-only music collections or DJ libraries.
- Last.fm scrobbling. Track every song you stream in your Last.fm profile with a toggle in Settings → Social. The MOD exposes the scrobbling endpoint that's normally reserved for Premium users.
- Sleep timer with fade-out. A 30-second audio fade before the timer kicks in, instead of the hard cut the official app uses.
These features are not yet in the public September 2026 release — they're shipping in the October build. Subscribe to the RSS feed to be notified when the new build drops.
